the barge captain's house

well, i was keeping it a secret (ha ha, get it? becau-- ahh, nevermind)... but whatever.
another coloring etc test for st michel. this is the barge captain's house, once a salt-taffee factory. as always, i love showing age and past usage in my characters and enviros.
originally, everything was going to be covered with snow, like a bruegel winter scene.

Beautiful work Mr. Caldwell. Reminds me of the bande dessinee and fumetto I used to read as a kid.

I bought your book on fantasy cartooning for my nephew. It's the best book on solid character construction I've seen. Great job on that too.

Nice ! I like the steep roof tops and interconnecting shapes. A fun and capricious design.

Great as usual. Question though. What is the process for this? Did you draw by hand first then scan into computer to color?
