Is that Steve? If so, then awesome! Also could you tell us a little something about the thinking process behind your design of Etta. I just read her introduction in Wednesday Comics and could not get over how cool she was. Oh and before I forget, Professor Jack Kirkhope was an excellent addition as well. I hope to see him more in the future.

yup, that is steve.

for etta's design, i wanted to show her completely iconoclastic personality, so i went for an eclectic mish-mash of styles. but the core influence was japanese "fruits" style (back in the 90's my friend jerel had STACKS of those magazines lying around). i ended up toning it down for wednesday comics, because there wasn't a lot of space to get into the characters, and i was afraid that if etta's appearance was too "cartoonish", it would distract from her actual personality, and make it harder to take her seriously later in the story. but IF i were to do more WW stories, i would crazy her style up a little bit again.
and she has definitely been one of my favorite characters to write!

as for seeing more of prof kirkridge (who looks like my dad), i'm afraid to say that the chances of my doing more WW are very small, especially given some of the changes i think DC is starting to make with their various properties.

i will be making more comments about etta and the prof on my site annotations sooner or later (i started them, just have to finish other things) as well as development sketches of etta.

cheers!

Thank you for the response. I was trying to think of what it was that stood out about your portrayal of Etta Candy, and your information pointed me in the right direction for my answer. If there is one thing the reader should walk away with after reading about Etta, it is that she is FUN. She just has this overwhelming sense of fun, originality, and spirit that I think comes across in the Marston version. What better style for her clothing than one that is known for its emphasis on individuality? So, I just wanted to say that I am enjoying your writing and artwork (slowly to prolong my enjoyment), and I hope DC will give you the go-ahead for more Wonder Woman stories.
