3M

since our action classics' "odyssey" has just been nominated for an award (oh, i didn't mention that a million times yet? i will!), i thought i'd share some art from one of the upcoming books, 'the three musketeers". words by the indestructible (believe me, i tried) tim mucci, and art by steve walker:

ps - you can see some pages from the soon-to-be-award-losing "odyssey" here.

Wow this comic is wonderful, and I being a huge fan of greek mythology I love the designs you gave to the characters especially the gods. I'm happy that you were nominated and I hope you win. Good Luck!

The Three Musketeers is a huge favorite of mine. I'm really excited to see your take on it. Congratulations on being nominated for The Odyssey too! It looks amazing.

Someday I want to approach Graphic Classics or somebody with an adaptation of T.H. White's 'The Once and Future KIng'. Ever thought of opening Action Classics up to other artists? ;)

thanks guys!

fabian - those designs are by steve walker. we'll definitely be posting more art for that (and other upcoming books) soon!

djordje, zawadi, nikolay - thanks! it was certainly a lot of work! and most of the coloring was done by the amazing manu tenderini, who does color (and art) for several european comics, including the extremely cool "wonder city", which SHOULD be a feature cartoon, but for some reason isn't. he's also one of the founders/professors at the venice comics university.

steve - there are other artists. rad sechrist did "tom sawyer", and both "odyssey" and "oz" were SUPPOSED to be done by other people. "musketeers" is being done by another artist, as is "wind in the willows". so there is certainly room for others besides me;)
BUT... "once and future king" is not in public domain, so we won't be doing it. although it is a pretty amazing story!

You're doing Wind in the Willows, eh? Have you seen Michel Plessix' version? Classics Illustrated collected it in a single volume. It is magnificent.

I think I heard about 'Once and Future King' being under copyright. I'm sure it's possible to approach the estate about it though. I should enquire if I ever get around to it.

I don't know how I missed the other artists under your banner. I've seen your Dracula, Oz and now Odyssey, but I guess I never came across the other ones.
